Heying Taxidermy and Training LLC is owned and operated by Zach Heying. I’m located in Denver, IA and specialize in whitetails, waterfowl, and upland birds.
My dad (Chris Heying) also does taxidermy full time and operates out of New Hampton, IA. He has been doing taxidermy for over 30 years and specializes in freshwater fish and whitetails. I’ve been fortunate to learn taxidermy from him for many years and continue to learn from other very successful taxidermists.
My goal is to preserve your hunting memories by creating something that you will be proud to display and enjoy for generations. As I continue to learn and improve my craft, I also hope to help other taxidermists learn and grow their skillset.
In March of 2026 I competed at the Iowa Taxidermy show and entered a lesser scaup and pheasant into the professional division. I was fortunate to win the following awards:
1st place ribbon on the lesser scaup
1st place ribbon on the pheasant
Best pheasant in the professional division
Best of Category: Upland
When I’m not in the shop, I like to spend my free time bow hunting deer, turkeys, fishing, and chasing ducks and pheasants with my friends.
